Meryl O’Rourke Bio

Have I Got News for You writer & Frankie Boyle tour support – Meryl O’Rourke, revels in her bitterness. She has delighted comedy audiences, written some of the best gags on telly and even hosted pop concerts (last one to 12,000 people!) Since 2010 she’s been a regular support act for Frankie Boyle, including his London tour dates at the Hammersmith Apollo. Meryl is also a trained actress and got to call Frankie an “arsehole” in his Channel 4 series Tramadol Nights. Meryl won the Big Talk writing prize, where she was gifted a chunk of money to help her write a sitcom with a production company. She was chosen by unanimous decision from 650 entrants! She is a Sony nominated radio broadcaster, appearing as a reviewer on BBC Radio 4 Front Row. She wrote/performed and edited a comedy series for Woman’s Hour. As well as writing for all the major satire TV shows including: Have I Got News for You, 8/10 Cats and 3 series of Mock the Week. As a close collaborator with Frankie Boyle, she has written for all 3 episodes of Autopsy, all series of New World Order, and Frankie Goes To Russia
