The Comedy Cabaret
Glasgow
Glasgow’s Spiritual Home of Stand-up!
The Comedy Cabaret operate weekly stand-up comedy shows across the UK. In Glasgow, we have recently moved home and are now partnered with the legendary Blackfriars of Bell Street, in Glasgow’s Merchant City. Blackfriars basement has hosted live stand-up gigs for decades, with plenty of TV comedians gracing the stage. The Comedy Cabaret team were the first people to give Lee Nelson & Gary Little a gig, the first to give paid work to Alan Carr & Kevin Bridges and the first to headline John Bishop. We know funny! Together we operate arguably the best comedy room in the UK, come along and experience it for yourself!
Award-winning Acts
The Team behind The Comedy Cabaret host the annual Scottish Comedy Awards and organise the Scottish, English and Irish Comedian of the Year competitions. This gives them unparalleled knowledge of who is funny. You will recognise many of the winners from TV. Pictured – former Scottish Comedian of the Year finalists: Iain Stirling (ITV2 Love Island), Stephen Buchanan (BBC New Comedy Award winner), Leo Kearse (UK Pun Champion), Stuart MacPherson (head writer for BBC Scot Squad) & Chris Forbes (BBC Scot Squad star).
