House rules

At The Comedy Cabaret Club we want everyone to enjoy a brilliant night of comedy. We all get annoyed by people interrupting a film at the cinema. Comedy is the same, it is only funny if the Comedians can perform their jokes with 'comic timing'. We have a few house rules to make sure that everybody attending has a great night.

Heckling & Talking During the Show

We have a strict policy of no heckling/talking whilst the acts are on stage. This is disruptive to audience members surrounding you and distracts our comedians on stage. Remember, people have paid to listen to the acts, not you. Anybody repeatedly talking/heckling/shouting out will be asked to leave immediately without refund.

Drunk & Disruptive Customers

Anybody deemed too intoxicated may be refused entry without refund at our discretion so please bear this in mind when attending our shows. The reason for this, is from experience, these are the people who are more likely to cause disruption during the comedy show and ruin it for everybody else.

Mobile Phones

Please ensure all mobile phones are either switched off or on silent. If your phone goes off during the show the comedian will likely take it off you and make a few extra calls. If you need to take a call during the show then please go upstairs to the bar area and do not answer in the actual performance room.

Audio/Visual Recordings

Please bear in mind that flash photography is off putting for the acts on stage so make sure any photos taken are without the flash on. You can use the flash on the intervals. Under no circumstances can you audio/visually record any of the acts on stage.

Bringing Your Own Alcohol

Under no circumstances can you bring your own alcohol to the venue. Anybody caught with their own alcohol will be asked to leave immediately without refund.

Stag/Hen Parties & Large Groups

If you are organising a hen or stag do or larger group please bear in mind that there will be other audience members there too so all of the above rules need to be adhered to. We know the typical stag or hen do can involve a lot of alcohol. If your plan is simply to get 'hammered' by 9pm then it may best to choose a different club to go to.

Management Reservations

Management reserve the right to refuse entry and eject individuals at their sole discretion, in particular for inebriated or disruptive behaviour.

Good Behaviour Bond

We know most stag/hen/birthday parties enjoy a drink and can often be boisterous so we do ask for a good behaviour deposit of £5 / head at the point of booking which will be fully refunded providing your guests respect the comedy club etiquette - refrain from chatting, heckling and general disruptive behaviour during the show.

Extra things to be aware of as a group organiser are:

No balloons/blow up dolls/inflatables/whistles/masks
No heckling or talking whilst the acts are on stage
Verbal abuse to any staff/comedian/audience member will not be tolerated and you will be asked to leave immediately without refund, no exceptions

Event of fire or evacuation

Each of our venues has a dedicated fire marshal that will oversee the evacuation of the building in the event of fire or similar incident. In the event of a fire a loud siren will sound. Please leave your belongings and drinks and follow the instructions from the venue staff. Fire exits are clearly signposted. All stairwells may be used. Do not use the lift in the event of an emergency exit. Alert a member of staff if you require assistance evacuating the building.

First Aid

Each of our venues has a dedicated first aid responder. In the event a person requires first aid, please notify venue staff immediately.

Disabled Access

We try our best to make sure all our venues are equipped for disabled access and that they feature disabled toilets. Unfortunately this is not always possible - please check event listings before booking. In the event of an emergency evacuation do not use the elevators. If you need help, please alert staff and wait for assistance.

Finally....

We hope you have a fantastic night with us and apologies if some of the above rules seem excessive or obvious but we do this to create the best atmosphere for everybody in attendance.

We want every show to run as smoothly as possible and most of all we want to make you all laugh.
